    Concluded Main Hearing – One Step Closer to Long-Term Mining Operations in Tornedalen

    The main hearing this week in the Land and Environment Court of Appeal regarding Kaunis Iron's case for continued and expanded mining operations has concluded, with a ruling expected in 2025. – I hope that we will now reach a final decision, allowing us to take important steps toward long-term operations in Tornedalen, says Åsa Allan, Deputy CEO of Kaunis Iron.

    Kaunis Iron AB Proceeds with Organizational Changes to Secure Mining Operations in Tornedalen

    As previously announced, due to the challenging market conditions, Kaunis Iron AB has now completed the initial union negotiations and is proceeding with a thorough reorganization to streamline operations. Although these actions are difficult, they are necessary for the company to strengthen its business and secure a long-term future for mining in Tornedalen.

    Kaunis Iron naturally has a big impact on the local community in the Pajala area, both as a major employer in the area and for the residents near the mine. Therefore, it is of course important for us to have an open dialogue with the local people living in the surrounding area.
