    Climate

The transition to a fossil-free and climate-neutral society is a matter that concerns us all. Kaunis Iron aims to be an active force that takes significant responsibility and drives its own initiatives.

    Commitment to the environment

We work continuously to improve our processes and annually invest multi-million sums to minimize our negative environmental impact. One of our major challenges is to eliminate carbon dioxide emissions from our transportation.

    Reduced carbon dioxide emissions

During 2025, emissions from our truck transport operations decreased by 8 percent. This reduction is due to the following factors:

    • New veichles and modern technology: Investments in new vehicles and modern technology have contributed to more fuel-efficient transport operations and reduced emissions.
    • Fuel-Efficient Driving: A continued focus on safe and fuel-efficient driving in our truck transport operations contributes to reduced fuel consumption and lower emissions.

At the same time, total emissions per tonne of concentrate decreased by 3 percent during the year.

    We provide regular updates
