Third Quarter Highlights
Net sales: SEK 410 million
Deliveries: 537 ktonnes
EBITDA: SEK 79 million
Operating profit (EBIT): SEK 8 million
Cash flow from operating activities: SEK 222 million
Capital expenditure: SEK 0 million
Significant Events During the Quarter
The third quarter was characterised by continued geopolitical challenges, resulting in particularly high ocean freight rates driven by developments in oil prices. This situation led to elevated shipping costs and continued logistical uncertainty.
The US dollar strengthened against other currencies, having a positive effect, although this did not offset the adverse impact of high ocean freight rates.
Outbound deliveries totalled 537 ktonnes and were completed according to plan, despite the challenging conditions in global shipping. Production also proceeded as planned.
Cash flow from operating activities amounted to SEK 222 million during the quarter. The positive cash flow development was primarily attributable to a normalisation of working capital. Year to date, cash flow has developed in line with EBITDA. No capital expenditure was incurred during the quarter.
CEO’s Comments
“The third quarter was characterised by continued high ocean freight rates as a result of the challenging geopolitical situation. Despite these challenging conditions, we maintained our planned delivery and production levels. Cash flow was positive, primarily driven by a normalisation of working capital, which contributed to strengthening our liquidity. We continue to monitor global developments and remain focused on maintaining stable and efficient production under the prevailing market conditions,” says Klas Dagertun, CEO of Kaunis Holding AB.
