Shared Vision for Long-Term Mining Operations in Tornedalen

Last week, the Board and management concluded a review of Kaunis Iron’s strategic work, discussing the company’s long-term opportunities and priorities. The outcome reaffirmed a shared ambition to ensure a competitive mining operation in Tornedalen, where the legally binding environmental permit representsan important piece of the puzzle. 

“We have a strong alignment on how we want to develop the business going forward. Our ambition is to create long-term sustainable and competitive conditions, while managing the transition from Tapuli in a responsible manner,” says Klas Dagertun, CEO of Kaunis Iron. 

As a result, the next phase of the strategic process will involve further evaluation of several long-term development paths. These require additional analysis before any decisions can be made. During the remaining production period in Tapuli, the focus will be on improving operational efficiency and strengthening the company’s financial position for the future.
